SCMBC Welcome

Pastor Jeremy Shamblin’s Welcome To

Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church

Thank you for taking time to visit our church’s website.  It’s a pleasure and huge responsibility to represent both our church and our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.  Our goal at Storms Creek is nothing unusual or original; it is and should be the same as many of the Lord’s churches.  Our goal is to carry out Christ’s Great Commission given to us in Matthew 28:19-20.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:  and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.

To be faithful to these words is our greatest responsibility.  We believe in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:1-4) without trickery, deception or schemes (II Corinthians 4:1-5).  We fully depend on the Holy Spirit of God to save lost sinners and bring them unto Him.

We, as Baptists, believe that only someone who has professed faith in the Lord can be baptized or immersed, picturing their faith in the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Lastly, the Great Commission calls for us to teach these disciples “to observe all things.”  This means we are to lift the Word of God to its rightful place as the standard and rule for our lives.  Our lives are called to be different; we are to be sanctified and set apart from the rest of the world through the truth of God’s Word (John 17:17).

We prayerfully strive to carry out these commands of the Great Commission, while we continue to meet and worship.  We strive to edify one another and grow in love, knowledge and unity with Christ and with each other.  Doing all this, we believe all glory is due to God and that our faith, our work and our ministries are for the purpose of glorifying God and enjoying Him forever.

I’d like to invite you to be part of our services and if the Lord so directs to be part of our church family.  Above all, we pray that you know the Lord and have an assurance of the forgiveness of sins found in the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
